Following building works to create a new Surgical Assessment Unit, the League of Friends generously supported the Department in adding the finishing touches to the new unit. New furnishings in the waiting area and focal point artworks throughout the department, including the six bed bay and two assessment rooms, have created a fresh and welcoming environment for patients. As well as providing a reassuring distraction for patients, the new artworks and furnishings also benefit staff who take pride in presenting and maintaining an up-to-date patient environment.
The images of local landscapes and woodland were taken by photographer Martin Cook who is also a Consultant Anaesthetist at the hospital. He said, "My goal is to capture the beauty of the landscapes and nature in and around Salisbury. I believe that we are lucky to live in such a glorious place."
